What Challenges Await You?
- Designing and implementing intuitive navigation systems optimized for remote-control input (focus management).
- Participating in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and maintain high code quality.
- Assisting QA teams to define and validate acceptance criteria based on Smart TV behaviors and device constraints.
- Debugging and optimizing performance on low-resource environments.
- Integrating analytics, DRM, and playback tracking for OTT/streaming experiences.
- Continuously improving the performance, startup time, and memory usage of TV apps.
- Adapting features and APIs per platform (webOS, Tizen) while maintaining a unified React codebase.
- Collaborating with top-notch Developers to create engaging and performant Smart TV applications.
- Solid understanding of performance optimization for TV apps.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflow (PRs, code reviews).
- Good communication skills: you will need good communication skills to participate in the discussions.
- Fast and able learner: you are a fast learner with the aptitude for growing your skillset given the resources, documentation, participation in appropriate projects and guidance.
- Must be able to work in a team environment from outside of a corporate office.
- Working in an Agile environment.
- Strong debugging skills and ability to work in constrained environments.
- Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Attention to detail and user experience optimization.
- Experience with video ad integrations (IMA SDK, VAST/VMAP).
- Knowledge of Node.js or Express for backend integrations.
- Experience with Redux, Zustand, or Context API for state management.
- Familiarity with analytics tracking tools (Comscore, Firebase Analytics).
- Experience developing for other OTT platforms (Android TV, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV).
